Jeff Yaeger of San Jose California is an advocate of forgotten American Music and his site features the music of one of America's most prolific march composers JAMES M FULTON. Jeff has arranged Fulton's march Aviator for the San Jose Wind Symphony and it was performed on March 31st and April 1st of this year. Our sincere thanks for this most important historic work he is doing.

ST GEORGE'S Grenada- A diplomatic gaffe marred the inauguration of a Chinese sponsored stadium when the band played the national anthem of Taiwan. Thousands of blue uniformed Chinese laborers lined up along with the Chinese ambassador to hear the Police band of Grenada played the wrong anthem. The Prime minister pledged a full investigation into how the Royal Grenada police band could have played the anthem of Taiwan instead of China. This is of a complete blunder that is of course a bandmaster's nightmare. The Chinese National Anthem is headed People's Republic of China and the Taiwan Anthem is headed Republic of China. This information comes from the bandmaster's National Anthem bible entitled National Anthems of the World. There are numerous editions of national anthems but there is almost always an official version. A recording from the Chinese embassy would have been the difference, because the anthems have no similarity. Second guessing is easy but unfortunately for the Police band this stigma will remain with them for a long time.
